The Headline Puzzle

A while ago, I was introduced to the “headline puzzle”. It’s a puzzle where five different headlines are encrypted using the same alphabet, but shifted. So it’s a substitution cipher, with no key changes (on the same headline).

The most famous resource to help you do these puzzles is a document floating around the internet called So you want to do the headline puzzle?. It’s worth a read. There’s a google site that publishes a new one each month to crack.

I’m hoping to throw up some APIs during this lock down to help with solving it. We’ll see how we go…
